God’s Truth

Romans 8:38-39

For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Attitude Adjustment

Are you overwhelmed today? Do you feel like you just can’t get ahead? Is life too much for you to handle? You are not alone! We all struggle with feeling overwhelmed. Some on a daily basis.  Some seasonally. Some based on circumstances. Some based on memories. But for all of us, there is great hope and great truth to take hold of: If the Lord Jesus Christ is our Savior, then we have the power and strength to overcome all things. It is by His love that we are equipped and never left alone.

Look at what this word from Romans promises:

…neither death nor life
…neither angels nor demons
…neither the present nor the future
…nor any powers
…neither height nor depth
…nor anything else in all creation
…will be able to separate us
…from the love of God
…that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Of course there are times that we just don’t even believe this is true. That is the exact moment when we must take our emotions, put them on the back burner, and make a choice to believe. That is when we take the Word of God and read it over and over again, proclaiming it out loud and allowing our heart to hear the truth.

It is also the time to call on the body of Christ for help. Ask for prayer. Seek out Godly counsel. Don’t walk alone with the burden of doubt. Study the Word and soak in His truth. Allow God to purify your heart and lean into His love in the process.

I challenge you today to do two things: 1) Write out this verse and repeat it at least 5 times out loud over the course of the day, and 2) Call or email at least one person to ask for them to pray for you and with you today. If it is a “good” day, then make it a prayer of praise and thanksgiving!

Lord Jesus Christ, Son of God, have mercy on us. Meet us in the overwhelmed places of our hearts and renew a right spirit from deep within. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
