Joy is a fruit…

…of the Spirit!

“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance; against such there is no law.”
Galatians 5:22-23

Real joy is cultivated by the Spirit….anything else is artificial.

I’ve known both types of joy…the artificial and the real.

When I try to do things on my own, in my own strength, that is when I get a taste of artificial joy. Tastes great! Doesn’t last long. Very disappointing.

When I rest in the Lord and rely on Him, that is when I experience real joy. The kind produced by the Spirit…accompanied with love, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, and temperance. Wonderful! Long lasting! Satisfying!

I have written in my Bible at the end of Galatians this reminder to myself:

Sow to the Spirit
Read the Bible
Personalize your Bible
Combine the Word of God in Prayer
Memorize!
Quote Scripture
Pray!

May you experience REAL JOY today!
