I was really nervous about making black fondant. I didn’t think i could do it, in fact, i almost ordered it online instead! But i tried a little on my own and realized it is totally possible, and fairly easy to do. Here’s the trick- you start with brown (chocolate) fondant! It is so much easier to get to black when you start that way. Plus, it tastes better because a) it’s chocolate!
and b) it doesn’t have so much coloring gel in it.
Here is a cupcake wedding where i used black fondant flowers, and they turned out great! Too bad i left the extra fondant on the table… my daughter got to it and ate it. All i saw was black teeth, and her saying ” mmmmm!”
