Black fondant

I was really nervous about making black fondant. I didn’t think i could do it, in fact, i almost ordered it online instead! But i tried a little on my own and realized it is totally possible, and fairly easy to do. Here’s the trick- you start with brown (chocolate) fondant! It is so much easier to get to black when you start that way. Plus, it tastes better because a) it’s chocolate! ;) and b) it doesn’t have so much coloring gel in it.

Here is a cupcake wedding where i used black fondant flowers, and they turned out great! Too bad i left the extra fondant on the table… my daughter got to it and ate it. All i saw was black teeth, and her saying ” mmmmm!”

Happy cup-Caking! ;P

Journey of Truth - Week 19

God’s Truth

Job 33:28

He redeemed my soul from going down to the pit, and I will live to enjoy the light.

Attitude Adjustment

Isn’t this just a fabulous verse! The more I read it, considering each word, the more overwhelmed I become by God and His never-changing truth.

Today’s verse is taken from Job, a man that surely experienced the despair of life, losing his wife, children, and then being told by his friends that it was his fault to begin with. And what does Job say is God’s Truth about all that…

He redeemed!

What did He redeem?

His soul!

Where did He redeem it from?

Going down to the pit!

And what was the result?

He lived to enjoy the light!

Notice, it wasn’t just that he lived, but that he lived with a purpose–to enjoy the light. Now if God can do that for Job, what can our God do for us? What pit is so bad that God can’t redeem us from it? What purpose is so beyond His help? But we have to remember, that once we are redeemed, it is so that we may enjoy the Light of the World, Jesus Christ our Lord.

Be redeemed, my friend. Be redeemed from the pit to enjoy the light. Read this hymn, There is a Fountain, and let the words minister to your heart.

There is a fountain filled with blood

drawn from Immanuel’s veins

And sinners plunged beneath that flood

Lose all their guilty stains

The dying thief rejoiced to see

That fountain in his day;

And there may I, though vile as he

Wash all my sins away

Dear dying Lamb, thy precious blood

Shall never lose its power

Till all the ransomed church of God

Are saved, to sin no more

For since by faith I saw the stream

Thy flowing wounds supply

Redeeming love has been my theme

and shall be till I die

When this poor lisping,

stammering tongue

Lies silent in the grave

Then in a nobler, sweeter song

I’ll sing thy power to save

Heavenly Father, redeem us from our pits, whatever they may be, no matter how big or small, for the one and only purpose you have in store–that we may enjoy the Light. In the precious name of Jesus, Amen and Amen!

What’s in your book bag

Okay. I debated whether or not to post this book. I know there will be controversy perhaps over it. In my reading of it, it is nothing but in search of homeopathic remedies and a desire to have a healthy body and lifestyle.

Lessons from Miracle Doctors by Jon Barron. It’s free to download, so you can read it. I have found it extremely useful in finding some interesting facts about our bodies and ways of taking care (like using probiotics and learning about colon cleansing, etc). I have gleaned a ton of information for myself that my regular doctors haven’t ever told me.

While it’s online, I actually downloaded and printed it out to read and go over. To keep as a reference for myself. I don’t know much about other herbal remedies, my desire to restore my body and fix it from the chemical shock it’s had over the years, this one has been helpful.

So if you’re interested in learning more about your body you might like this book!

…And They Shall Dream Dreams

“…And it shall come to pass afterward

That I will pour out My Spirit on all flesh:

Your sons and your daughters shall prophesy,

Your Old men shall dream dreams

Your old men shall see visions.

And also on My menservants and on My maidservants

I will pour out My Spirit in those days…”

                                                            Joel 2:18-3:21

Dear Friends,

I had a dream or rather a nightmare that deeply concerned me and I felt the utmost urgency to share it with you.  Before I start to unfold this dream I want to tell you that I love you and that I need to let you know that my heart is nearly bursting, with a burden to let you know just how important you are to God and how much God loves you.

To begin my dream, there was great joy and commotion within the walls of my kitchen, as usual.  Sisters, daughters, sons, grandchildren, parents, friends, all well-known to me, were all having a wonderful time.  The joy and laughter increased and then one I loved, but who did not cherish God entered the room.  (My beloved indulged himself in the occult, declared himself as a warlock, believing himself to be one with the gods, and practising strange rituals.)  Suddenly there were flames from a hell fire, that seemed to come out of no where, they started to lick, touch and consume my dearly beloved’s body.  I cried and wept profusely.  My heart filled with sadness, as I continued to cry for my beloved but that did not help my beloved.

God spoke gently to my heart.  His name He spoke with love. He cried with me, as he was truly one of the most ‘Loved’.  Just as Lucifer was one of His ‘Most Loved and prized’.  Unfortunately, Lucifer made a choice but those whom have not chosen Jesus still have time to make the correct choice by asking God for forgiveness and asking Jesus to come into their hearts.

God gave each of us a free will and He does not cause evil, it is men that choose to cause evil and it is men who wreak evil upon their fellow brothers or sisters.  Sometimes, men just happen to be the victim of circumstances.  What they do when they are the victims of life’s circumstances and how men handle it, sometimes, determine their future paths.

I fear that there is little time left on this earth and that if some of us do not get our hearts straightened and right with God that some of us will not be spending eternity with God.  Dear friends, that not only makes God sad but that makes me sad, for I love you, so very much, and I cannot even phantom losing you to life never mind death, never mind to the hell fires of eternity.

As I wait to tell you of this dream my stomach twists and turns in knots, I do not wish to wake you from your slumber, nor do I wish to waste a second of your precious life without the knowledge of God’s warning.

Yours in God’s love

Can you imagine having had a dream and having the actual burden of having to tell your siblings or loved one’s this message?  Evangelists do it daily.  Our loved ones are so important!  We must pray for their salvation daily, and we must remember to petition God for their salvation, thanking God for hearing our prayers, and believing God in our faith - the faith of believing Christians, to bless our prayers and to answer them!

Most Christians believe that there is limited time on this earth, I cannot emphasis this point enough, it is harvest  time,  and that means we must get the message out swiftly.  The Bible teaches that no one knows

“…the time or the hour…but the Father!”

…but we are to be aware and to know by the signs of the times that our time on earth is limited.

Wedding Cookies

So to follow up on last weeks post, i want to show you the most recent fondant cookies i have done-

I know the picture isn’t the best, but you get the idea! Very simple to do. I used a gel food colour, diluted with rum extract and stamped on the hearts and “thank you’s” with regular stamps from a craft store.

One tip- let the ink dry very well before bagging! Let’s just say i learned the hard way…..

Journey of Truth - week 18

God’s Truth

Psalm 16:11

You have made known to me the path of life; you will fill me with joy in your presence, with eternal pleasures

at your right hand.

Attitude Adjustment

Nike had a wonderful campaign with the slogan, “Just do it!”  What strikes me funny is that “Just do it!”

ought to be our mission believers, as well, when it comes to being in a personal relationship with God

through  Jesus Christ and studying Scriptures so that we would know Him more. The Lord has provided us

His Word for our benefit, but for most of us it is the last place we turn to.

At we read this particular verse, we may find ourselves still doubting and wondering what is the path before

me? How do we really know the path of life?  We believe we have no idea what is in store for us tomorrow!

Right? No, not exactly.  We do know what is in store if we believe in Jesus as Lord.  The path of life is

eternity bound. If we want to know what that journey–that path–looks like, we’ll find out all about it in the

Bible.

When our path is eternity bound, all the earthly distractions and difficulties fade into the horizon. The Lord’s

presence becomes our joy, instead of our circumstances and experiences. We can outstretch our hand

right into His and take hold of the eternal pleasures promised us in the Bible.

Take time today to dwell with the Lord. Read His Word. Walk away from the computer and the

circumstances in your life. Bow your head to a Holy God that longs to touch you with His strong, right hand.

Heavenly Father, speak to our hearts today. Impart your truth into the very fabric of our beings. Touch us

deeply with your joy, your presence, and the gentle touch of your strong right hand. In Jesus’ Precious

Name, Amen.

God Wants YOU!

The word of the Lord came to me:  “Son of man, say to

The ruler of Tyre, ‘This is what the Sovereign Lord says:

“ ‘In the pride of your heart

You say, “I am a god;

I sit on the throne of a god

In the heart of the seas.”

But you are a man and not a god,

Though you think you are as wise as a god.

By your wisdom and understanding

You have gained wealth for yourself

And amassed gold and silver

In your treasuries.

By your great skill in trading you have increased your wealth,

And because of your wealth

Your heart has grown proud.

Ezekiel 28:2

Over and over and over again God kept referring me to this passage and I could not for the life of me figure out what He was trying to say through it. I love how wonderful, reliable and faithful God. I was actually getting quite scarred thinking that He was trying to tell me that I was acting like the devil (i.e. the King of Tyre) more and more each day.  God gently reminded me that I should ask Him to make it known what He was trying to tell me and as I was reading the scripture and listening to His holy word, like usual, the message seemed to come through loud and clear.

All my life my needs have been few and I have been happy with little.  Shelter, food, a spouse, children, family and friends…these things seem to be the treasures that most people should be most comfortable with.  Well, I have always been…but not everyone is!  And that is not what God wants us to be happy with either!  God wants us to want Him!

“Where your treasure is that is where your heart will be!”

First and foremost our hearts must, and I must emphasis that word must belong to God.  Without God we are nothing.  We are His children and we shall all answer to Him one day.  No matter how much wealth we accumulate in this game of life God must come first!  No matter how poor we are we must put God first!  No matter what our circumstances are we must realize that Jesus Christ is Our Lord and Redeemer and that we will all be called to His throne and we will stand before it and Jesus will read out the names that are in the Book of Life….and not everyone’s name will be there!

The other night I was talking to one of my dearest friends and I prayed a blessing over her that God would bless her with her heart’s desires and she replied, “Oh, that my son would receive salvation!”  To have such a blessing would be such an honour.

Where is your heart?  Where is your treasure?  Will you be able to stand before our Lord Jesus Christ when He passes judgement and hear your name come from the Book of Life?  I pray that you may.

Life After Porn: A Redemption Story

While this is online.. and not in my actual book bag, it is in my virtual book bag…

Life After Porn: A Redemption Story

I think the title says it all.  Whether or not you’ve gone through it, it is an interesting read.. It shows great victory over a bad situation.  It’s great to know Gods standards are not ours.

A quote I’ll leave you with from the book chapter 6 is:

Do you need to forgive someone who doesn’t deserve forgiveness? Or better yet, do you need to forgive someone who has not even repented? Trust me when I say that I know how difficult this is. I’ve wasted many hours rehearsing hateful monologues to let this person know how I feel. Not anymore. I cannot escape my Heavenly Father’s words found in Matthew.

For if you forgive men when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. Matthew 6:14

We have no excuse when we do not forgive.”

OUCH! lol that’s all i gotta say!  It really speaks! so take a lookie at the link I left you and have a good read.. I may suggest a tissue or two as well!
